When I was a kid, I never ran a lemonade stand. But as an adult, I’ve taken a moment to stop at a few. I can always use a cold glass of enthusiastically child-made sweet refreshment!
It seems to me that a small purchase from a small person can lead to much larger things. It rewards effort. It rewards responsibility. In a way that is both positive and gentle, it opens up a child’s small world into the larger world.
Perhaps most importantly, the folks who stop at lemonade stands tend to be generous, kind-hearted people. Which is a wonderful influence on small members of the next generation!
